Analytics-Guided Optimization (AGS)

Overview

Analytics-Guided Optimization (AGS) applies Pathian’s analytics platform to identify, quantify, and verify operational energy improvement using independent measurement. The solution focuses on outcomes—what changed, by how much, and whether those changes persist—without prescribing strategies or delivering implementation.

AGS is powered by Pathian’s Analytics-Guided Optimization System (AOS), a standardized and licensable analytics framework used in utility and enterprise programs.

Measurement Before Action

AGS is grounded in a measurement-first approach. Using mathematically derived Ideal Curves and normalized baselines, the solution compares actual performance to expected behavior under defined physical constraints. Performance variance is quantified continuously, enabling clear identification of inefficiency, improvement, and persistence over time.

This approach replaces assumption-driven optimization with verified outcomes.

What AGS Enables

Identify Operational Inefficiency

AGS highlights where systems and components deviate from expected performance across portfolios, facilities, and individual assets.

Verify Improvement

When operational or control strategies are implemented by customers or partners, AGS verifies realized energy and demand impacts using consistent pre- and post-performance measurement.

Track Persistence

AGS tracks whether performance improvements persist over time, enabling long-term confidence in results and supporting incentive alignment.

Strategy-Agnostic by Design

AGS does not prescribe how optimization is achieved. Customers, OEMs, contractors, and partners determine the operational, controls, or capital strategies they deploy. AGS independently measures and verifies outcomes regardless of strategy choice.

This separation preserves delivery flexibility while maintaining analytical integrity.

Utility, OEM, and Partner Alignment

AGS supports a range of stakeholders:

  • Utilities use AGS to support incentive programs, document verified savings, and enable analytics-driven program oversight.
  • OEMs and partners use AGS verification to validate the outcomes of optimization strategies and performance-based offerings.
  • Enterprises and facility operators gain objective insight into operational performance and improvement over time.
